Decorated Compost Bin Competition
Winners Announced!


We would like to thank everyone who entered this years competition as part of International Compost Awareness Week 2013, the quality and creativeness of entries was fantastic.  The very difficult task of judging has been taken on by volunteers and staff at Garden Organic.


Margi Lennartsson, Head of Programmes at Garden Organic commented on the entries: " They are all marvelous!"


Everyone who judged also commented on how difficult the decision was because of the quality of entries.


The two age categories with the winning entries are shown below:


Under 11 years


 1st Place:

Compost bin decorated with a summer garden theme by children at St Edward's CE Primary School, Rochdale.

2nd Place:

 A compost bin and bug house!  This was created by children at Lister Drive Allotments, Liverpool.

 3rd Place:


Compost bin designed by a Year 1 child at St Joseph's Catholic Infant School, Aylesbury.


11 - 18 years


 1st Place:

Compost Dalek and Tardis created by students at Belvue High School, Middlesex.

 2nd Place:

Bee and ladybird inspired compost bin created by students at Wainfleet Hall, The Boarding House of Skegness Grammar School

3rd Place:


A flower inspired compost bin designed and decorated by a year 7 pupil at Wandle Valley School, Surrey.
